Sheikh Mohammed announces AED65 billion housing project for Emirati-News

It was announced on Wednesday that the rulers of Dubai had approved a Dh65 billion fund for the city’s UAE housing plan. The budget will be used in the next 20 years to ensure decent shelters for UAE nationals.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Chief of Dubai, announced the news on Twitter on Wednesday.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, also issued a directive to quadruple the number of citizens benefiting from the plan and increase the allocation to the UAE starting next year. The land for the housing project reaches 1.7 billion square feet.

Sheikh Mohammed said that quality housing is the basic right of everyone and the government’s top priority.

“We have adopted a comprehensive housing policy and I will monitor myself. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, will follow up on their plans,” he added.

He added that providing citizens with decent housing is part of Dubai’s vision to become the most liveable city in the world.

Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the deputy ruler of Dubai, said that the provision of housing facilities is a priority of the government.

“Dubai’s urban development plan is constantly under review, and our housing policy will continue to develop in accordance with the requirements of our citizens,” Sheikh Maktoum said.

Consistent with the UAE’s vision for the next 50 years, Dubai’s 2040 city master plan focuses on improving people’s happiness and quality of life.

The people-centered plan aims to enhance Dubai’s competitiveness as a global destination by providing citizens, residents and tourists with a wide range of lifestyle and investment opportunities in the next 20 years.
