ABU DHABI, 12th June, 2022 (WAM) — In the presence of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Sheikh Khali Under the direction of His Highness de bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Sweihan Housing Project has been launched as part of the UAE Neighborhood Comprehensive Plan at a cost of AED 572.1 million, providing 204 new units to the citizens of Sweihan housing.
During the inauguration, His Highness was briefed on the project’s infrastructure, building specifications and architectural design features. He also reviewed the interior and exterior finishes of the villas to meet the needs of the citizens and enhance their quality of life, meeting the highest international standards.
The project was developed to create a cohesive integrated community with high quality amenities. Built according to the latest codes, the project aims to provide a comprehensive residential community characterized by authenticity and modernity, involving the construction of independent villas sharing common outdoor spaces. Each villa has been designed to reflect the UAE’s national identity, culture and traditions to meet the needs of citizens and enhance their quality of life, and to match the growing urban sprawl of the Sweihan area.
The Sweihan residential project covers more than 80 hectares and includes 204 civic villas, two mosques, two shopping centers, a community center and 21 green spaces and parks, as well as allocated plots for commercial and community facilities. Each villa consists of two majalis, dining and living room, five bedrooms and other facilities. The Sweihan Housing project is the first to be implemented under the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority’s Comprehensive Neighborhood Directory, a set of standards and guidelines within Abu Dhabi Government Housing that ensures homes meet the needs of Emirati families.
His Highness was accompanied by Mohamed Ali Al Shaurafa, Chairman of the Ministry of Municipalities and Transport and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Housing Council; Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Executive Council; and Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority.
Mohammad Ali Al Shaurafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said: “The inauguration of the Sweihan housing project confirms that the well-being, stability and growth of citizens are our leadership’s top priorities. It is also a tribute to Abu Dhabi An influential addition to the housing projects already completed by the Dhabi Housing Authority, which provide housing that meets the needs of citizens and their families and ensures them a safe and stable social life in an environment conducive to sustained economic growth”
Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said: “Our leadership’s directive reflects their commitment to meeting the housing needs of citizens and their families. Abu Dhabi Housing Authority is making every effort to develop housing projects that meet the needs of citizens , and provide them with an integrated community that includes all public facilities and infrastructure.”
The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) is responsible for developing and implementing several housing programs for citizens to meet the needs of Emirati families. Since its establishment, ADHA has provided more than 38,000 parcels of land, more than 11,000 new homes and more than 45,000 housing loans; and forgiven the repayment of 3,700 housing loans. The total value of housing benefits provided so far is AED 131 billion.
