ALBANY, NY, 13th June, 2023 (WAM) — Amna Binzaal Almheiri, UAE Consul General in New York, has visited Albany in upstate New York.
During his visit, Consul General Almheiri met with key political and business stakeholders and other partners to build on existing strong relationships and encourage greater trade, economic and cultural cooperation.
She highlighted the depth of the UAE’s relationship with the US and the state of New York, noting that the US is one of the UAE’s key strategic allies, sharing common interests and working together to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields.
As part of his visit, Consul General Almheiri met with State Senate President Pro Tempore and Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins ​​and Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner, as well as other members of the Senate. During these meetings, she reiterated the UAE’s commitment to further strengthen its relations with the United States and New York, and discussed opportunities to continue expanding economic and cultural ties.
Consul General Almheiri, who was also introduced by Senator Kevin Thomas and welcomed by the New York State Senate, praised the UAE’s leadership in areas such as empowering entrepreneurs and advancing the transition to clean energy, and acknowledged the partnership and friendship between the UAE , USA and New York.
In addition, Consul General Almheiri met with Stacey Hengsterman, President and CEO of Special Olympics New York, to discuss how to further expand the UAE’s longstanding partnership with Special Olympics and continue to promote inclusion for those of determination. The Special Olympics World Games will be held in Abu Dhabi in 2019.
At the conclusion of the visit, Almheiri attended a dinner hosted by Mark Eagan, Chairman and CEO of the Center for Economic Growth and Capital Region Chamber of Commerce, as well as members of a delegation that visited the UAE in 2019, as well as Schenectady Mayor Gary R.
