Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has launched a new survey to understand the needs of community members, especially when it comes to residential and public developments.
The Dream Neighborhood Survey is part of a community engagement campaign under the slogan “Abu Dhabi: A Wonderful Place”. The event marks the start of the next phase of the Liveability Strategy, which is in line with the Abu Dhabi Government’s vision and commitment to develop and deliver integrated and sustainable communities that offer a healthy lifestyle in line with Emirati culture and traditions.
“DMT aims to revitalize and develop residential areas to meet community needs, provide and develop diverse transport options for everyone, use Abu Dhabi’s existing assets to create destinations and experiences for everyone, and plan and maintain an integrated A sustainable, sustainable and flexible emirate is for all,” said DMT Chairman Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa.
“The campaign aims to encourage a diverse culture and involve all segments of Abu Dhabi society in the development process by examining the needs and opinions of each individual and taking them into account in the decision-making process related to the design and development of the neighbourhood. facilities,” Al Shorafa noted.
Outreach activities are focused on working with the public and private sectors, utilizing social media platforms, conducting workshops with diverse groups of individuals, and conducting innovative surveys to encourage engagement with all residents of Abu Dhabi.
“It also aims to establish digital platforms that will allow community members to access information related to the progress of development projects and enable them to make comments and suggestions, in addition to establishing partnerships with local community agencies, schools and universities to integrate the population, especially It is young people who are involved in efforts related to community and recreational facility development,” Al Shorafa emphasized.
The survey included a variety of questions aimed at gaining feedback and opinions from the community on desirable community amenities near their residences and the way surrounding residential areas would develop.
“By building new parks and providing advanced infrastructure, we aim to build sustainable and connected communities that meet the needs and aspirations of the emirate’s residents and enhance the quality of life in Abu Dhabi,” added Al Shorafa.
Dr Salem Khalfan Al Kaabi, Director General of Operational Affairs, DMT, said: “By listening to people and understanding their needs, we will be able to take strategic initiatives to improve the quality of life and develop residential areas that meet their various needs.
