AD Ports Group signs agreement to enhance Abu Dhabi’s digital customs services with ‘ATLP’

Maqta Gateway, the digital division of and part of AD Ports Group, has signed a Service Level Agreement with Abu Dhabi Customs and Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED). The agreement aims to provide digital customs services through the Advanced Trade and Logistics Platform (ATLP), in particular through the inspection and clearance services sector.

ATLP was officially inaugurated in May 2020 by His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. It is Abu Dhabi’s official single window trade platform, developed and operated by Maqta Gateway under the supervision of ADDED, and plays a vital role in streamlining services and trade in Abu Dhabi.

Not only does the agreement recognize the expected level of service provided to customers, it also aims to provide a seamless customer experience to the Abu Dhabi trading community for goods moving through Abu Dhabi’s eight border crossings.

Through ATLP, the collaboration between ADDED, AD Customs and Maqta Gateway will be strengthened to clearly define operational roles, responsibilities and processes to facilitate customers’ access to digital customs services.

By providing all digital customs services through ATLP, merchants and stakeholders will be able to oversee the clearance of goods at every stage, ensuring efficiency and transparency. Abu Dhabi Customs Services is founded on the principles of open cooperation and a commitment to delivering the highest level of service.

ATLP continues to play a key role in facilitating trade in Abu Dhabi by streamlining administrative processes, enabling advance notification for clearance to reduce transit times and providing a consolidated view of trade through Abu Dhabi. To date, ATLP’s inspection and clearance modules have facilitated more than 70% of customs clearance in Abu Dhabi.

This supports us in becoming the world’s leading customs authority Abu Dhabi Customs, in collaboration with strategic partners, is developing digital solutions solutions and advanced technologies to facilitate trade, resulting in shorter inspection times and seamless border coordination at the border. The agreement is an extension of these efforts to improve the efficiency of cargo movement and simplify the user experience, ultimately facilitating global trade through Abu Dhabi. “
