UAE travelers evade high ticket prices by taking budget airlines and connecting flights

[ad_1]

With the long weekend just around the corner, it’s no secret that people in the UAE are all set to embark on a fun-filled holiday. So, they’ve booked their plane tickets to the desired location, where they intend to take a much-needed break. It’s important to note, though, that some people are still in the booking process. Now, due to the summer travel rush in the UAE, their airfares are high. Here’s what these families are doing to avoid skyrocketing airfares.

As the Eid al-Adha holiday approaches, families flock to their hometowns or travel to cooler climates. That led to higher airfares to popular destinations, according to National News. What’s more, because it coincides with the school summer vacation, there has been an unprecedented surge in summer travel. However, there are many expat families looking for alternatives to escape such high airfares. Many are willing to travel on budget airlines, take longer routes, travel on connecting flights, and even explore other alternatives that won’t break the bank, the report said.

Some travelers are already ditching the luxury of premium airlines in favor of no-frills travel to avoid hefty ticket prices. Still others opted not to take direct flights because of the exorbitant airfares. So they opted for a connecting flight as an alternative! Not to mention, many may not have booked return flights to the UAE, instead waiting for last-minute price cuts. It was mentioned that airfare prices for flights to destinations such as London and India typically increase. This is not surprising, as Arfi Ahmed, CEO and founder of Smart Travel, mentioned in the report that the price of air tickets to some Indian states such as Kerala has increased by 10 times!

So, with airfares skyrocketing, it’s no surprise that travelers who haven’t booked their flights are looking for an alternative that won’t break the bank.
