Haley, who served as U.N. ambassador during the Trump administration, on Tuesday laid out one of the most hawkish stances on China in the 2024 Republican presidential race, calling on Washington to sharply limit ties with Beijing to address the sharp rise in U.S. fentanyl overdose deaths. rising issue.

U.S. officials have said the Chinese government has not cooperated on fentanyl or money laundering related to drug trafficking, a criticism Beijing has rejected.
