ABU DHABI, 29th June, 2023 (WAM) — The defending champion Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team is gearing up to defend their title in the third round of the UIM F1H2O World Championships.
After the first two rounds of the UIM F1H2O World Championship in Indonesia (February) and China (May), Europe is held in the picturesque town of Macon, France, on the banks of the Saône from June 30 to July 2. The first of two rounds in the series.
The Abu Dhabi Powerboat Team is joining the Sharjah Powerboat Team and Victory Team to represent the UAE in the Championships.
Abu Dhabi star Thani Al Qamzi enters Camp San Nazzaro, Italy, in preparation for the Formula 1 Powerboat World Championship race in Macon.
“We’ve been preparing a similar route to Macon in Italy, with the same dimensions and turns, so I feel good about it,” he said. “While I’m working hard to win my first individual drivers’ championship, I’m also defending our constructors’ world title with Sean.”
Al Qamzi and teammate, reigning world champion Shaun Torrente will arrive in Macon on Thursday to join the administration.
Torrent currently ranks fourth with 16 points, and Alkenzie ranks ninth with 7 points.
