Jose in Pizarro will open in January 2023…
In an office full of foodies, few discussions can ruin a productive day like “Would you like to see more food in the city?”
Authentic Spanish food always comes out on top. There is not much about it in restaurants in Abu Dhabi. Madrid’s gap is real.
This is a question Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers feels very keen to say goodbye‘ to. Their next addition – which has to be one of the city’s strongest portfolios of exceptional culinary hotels – is José in Pizarro, which plans to offer small-plate flamingos from January 2023.
If the name sounds familiar, it’s probably because José Pizarro is quite a figure in the world of gastronomic ambassadors, showing the world the subtleties of Spanish cuisine. The José Pizarro Group operates a string of highly regarded restaurants in Europe, serving (quite appropriate for Abu Dhabi’s recent acquisition of the Michelin Guide) Bib Gourmand-approved Iberian Torch.
Speaking about the project, Pizarro’s Jose said: “If you know me, you’ll know that I’ve always wanted to open a restaurant outside of Europe. As a businessman and restaurateur, it’s a really exciting opportunity to bring my beloved Spanish flavors to the world. I know Abu Dhabi is an emirate with a unique passion for food, art and culture, so with their amazing development and my desire to introduce Spanish flavors more widely , it’s a perfect match.”
