Abu Dhabi Airports scheme aims to recruit Emirati graduates

Abu Dhabi Airports, operator of five airports in the UAE, has announced the launch of a new ‘Asaas’ programme aimed at attracting, recruiting and training UAE university graduates interested in joining the aviation industry.

A report by the Wam news agency said the programme would seek to empower them with knowledge and experience in airport operations and management.

As part of the programme, successful university graduates will undergo a six-month on-the-job training fully sponsored by Abu Dhabi Airports in partnership with leading educational institutions. The training is designed to cover a wide range of industry-related topics such as airport operations (land and airside), aircraft flight and ground operations, health and safety, security management and general business management studies.

Eng Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and CEO, Abu Dhabi Airports said: “Investing in aviation is at the heart of our mission at Abu Dhabi Airports. The Asaas programme is a testament to our commitment to paving the way for a new generation of Emirates leaders With the knowledge and experience, the players will be able to sustain the growth and development of this important sector in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.”

“Through intensive on-the-job training in partnership with Abu Dhabi’s leading universities, the next generation of aviation leaders will be equipped to shape the future of airports,” he added.

Hanan Ibrahim Al Abed, Chief Human Resources Officer, Abu Dhabi Airports commented: “We are delighted to partner with the emirate’s top universities to sponsor a dedicated academic programme to equip selected candidates with the knowledge they need to excel in their new careers Adventure at Abu Dhabi Airport.”
