Abu Dhabi, UAE: The Abu Dhabi Arabic Center (ALC), part of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, follows the eye-catching vote for Al Dhafra Book Festival 2022 in a new format at Zayed City Public Park – Abu Dhabi DCT Abu Dhabi has extended the festival by two days until Sunday, December 11, 2022.
The decision to extend the festival is in line with ALC’s efforts to provide the maximum number of visitors with an opportunity to benefit from the festival over the weekend, explore new titles from participating publishers, and enjoy the event’s activities. The Center works to promote reading as a practice in the community, in addition to spreading culture and awareness, and enabling the community to play an active role in the sustainable development of the UAE.[KA1]
The 2022 Al Dhafra Book Festival showcases a wide variety of literary, musical and heritage-based events in a celebratory atmosphere suitable for visitors and families. The program includes more than 100 events covering a variety of topics, including a series of cultural evenings titled ‘The People’s Favorite Voices’, which will celebrate famous and popular poets and artists from Al Dhafra.
The festival has allocated two areas for children and youth activities, one dedicated to children’s workshops, performances and story readings and the other to youth workshops. It also includes an Art Corner, featuring exhibitions and art workshops by creative artists. Additionally, the event gave visitors the chance to meet a cast of fictional characters inspired by Emirati and Arabic folk tales, brought to life through 3D models distributed during the festival. Also on the agenda is a series of roaming art and music performances.
