A Dubai resident who works as a hotel manager can hardly believe his luck when he won Dh1 million in Abu Dhabi’s weekly Grand Lottery electronic draw.
Interestingly, Hari Jayaram was watching the FIFA World Cup in Qatar when he got a call from the Big Ticket organizers.
For the past eight years, he has lived in the UAE. After hearing about Big Ticket, he started buying tickets with two of his friends over the past year and a half.
“I’m happy to win. I hope to still win the Dh30 million grand prize,” Jayaram said.
Anyone who buys tickets this month will automatically enter a weekly e-draw, with one winner receiving a weekly cash prize of AED 1 million. Plus, they have a chance to win a grand prize of AED 30 million on 3 December.

Last week, Varsha Gunda who was visiting here won the weekly award. After hearing about Big Ticket through social media, she started buying tickets and has been doing so for the past three years.
While her husband currently lives and works in the UAE, Varsha moved back to India a few years ago. She was happy, after years of hard work, she finally won. While Vasha has yet to decide what to do with her windfall, she will continue to try her luck in hopes of hitting the jackpot one day.
Tickets can be purchased online or at in-store counters at Abu Dhabi International Airport and Al Ain International Airport.
