Iman Al-Safaqsi is now in stable condition after several weeks in hospital

Brave UAE resident Iman Al-Safaqsi, who helped the wounded in the Abu Dhabi building fire, recuperates in hospital as her husband describes how his wife took the victims one by one to safety place and give them first aid before her. Injured in gas explosion.
Last month, Al-Safaqsi was injured while helping injured residents in a gas cylinder explosion in the Al Khalidiya area of Abu Dhabi.
The explosion started a blaze that destroyed the facades of six buildings and several stores. The explosion killed two people and injured more than a hundred.
In an exclusive interview with Khaleej Times on Monday, Al-Safaqsi’s husband, Sami Messaoudi, 37, said his wife is now in stable condition after several weeks of treatment in the hospital.
When she heard the loud explosion, Messaoudi said: “My wife hurried out of the house after hearing the explosion to see what was going on. She saw injured people outside the building.”

“She gave them water and took some of the victims one by one into our lobby to ensure their safety and to give them first aid before paramedics arrived.”
He added: “She was injured in the second blast while she was out trying to help the other victims. Unfortunately, she had to be taken to hospital for treatment.”
The Tunisian said his family was worried at first because Al-Safaqsi was in critical condition after being injured.
“I thank God the paramedics arrived on time and took her to the hospital where she was well treated,” he said.
“Now, she is stable and recovering well. We thank the doctors for their excellent work.”
Messaoudi said his 37-year-old wife was a very kind, kind, helpful person who was helpful to the family and the community.
“She always likes to help others, including family, friends and others. She never says no to anyone who asks for help,” he said, adding that housewife Al-Safaqsi is always involved in many humanitarian activities.
NCEMA President Ali Saeed Al-Neyadi recently visited Al-Safaqsi at the hospital to check on her health.
He wished her a speedy recovery and good health, and praised her courageous act of helping the wounded.
The Tunisian couple, who have lived in Abu Dhabi for four years, have two boys.
