Abu Dhabi-based technology healthcare company M42 has announced that it has acquired Diaverum, a leading global kidney care provider, from Bridgepoint Group, making the group the largest healthcare company in the Middle East.
Founded in 1991, Diaverum is currently the third largest dialysis service provider in the world, with operations in 23 countries, 440 clinics and more than 13,000 employees.
Led by an experienced management team, Diaverum is committed to improving patient outcomes and driving innovation in technology-enabled care delivery.
It also has a strong track record of clinical excellence, providing intensive care to approximately 39,000 patients with chronic kidney disease.
The acquisition of Diaverum significantly expands M42’s global geographic footprint, enabling it to launch relevant healthcare services and medical technology solutions in new markets, while further strengthening its renal care offerings in GCC.
In addition, Diaverum has particular strengths in technology-enabled care. This includes patient-centric applications and the potential of using AI to provide data-driven clinical insights for chronic kidney disease patients. M42 will leverage its deep knowledge and expertise in artificial intelligence, genomics and technology-driven solutions to enhance Diaverum’s ability to deliver precise, life-saving kidney care.
