Happened this weekend…
This Saturday, Stage 6 of the UAE Tour – the annual multi-stage cycling race that draws some of the world’s best riders across the UAE in search of championship trophies – will require the temporary closure of some key roads in the capital.
Stage 6 kicks off at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi with festivities kicking off around 10am and the race kicking off around 12.30pm. Around 4.30pm, the wind was blowing right up to the Abu Dhabi Breakwater, close to the stunning new Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi.

A full list of temporary road closures, including closing windows and race transit times, can be found below.
The route takes cyclists from Yas Island, the UAE’s thrill ride and family entertainment hub – driving an F1 Phantom car on the Yas Marina Circuit, through the stunning green spaces of the Eastern Mangroves, through Khalifa City Al Maqta, then drive past buildings and sites of cultural imports, impressive engineering and outstanding views of the city of Abu Dhabi itself.
Sheikh Zayed Bridge will also be partially closed with two lanes closed – Corniche direction.

From Saturday 25th February 2023 until Sunday 12th March 2023 there will be a partial road closure in Al Ain along a section of The First Street in Nahyan, Zakhir.
