Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2023 attracts more than 1,300 exhibitors

The recently concluded Abu Dhabi International Book Fair reported its 2023 figures, as well as exhibitor interest for 2024.

Exhibitors from 85 countries in 2023

Tonhe Abu Dhabi International Book Fairthe 32nd edition of which ended on May 28, reported today (June 8) that this year more than 1,300 exhibitors and publishers from at least 85 countries participated in the exhibition at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center exhibit, highlighting more than 500,000 works in multiple languages.

Registration for the 2024 public-facing show is open.

Less than two weeks after the 2o23 show concluded, organizers are at Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center (ALC) reported that they had booked 322 booths, not including the large ground-anchored government stands, which tend to be at the front of the show at various arrival points for visitors.

The Abu Dhabi program has yet to report attendance.

Organizers said registered booths accounted for about 64 percent of available booths for next year, and about 44 percent of registered booths were occupied by local publishers and other exhibitors.

In terms of significant levels of international interest, the program cites:

  • Ten percent interest comes from Egypt
  • Seven percent come from Türkiye – this year’s guest of honor
  • 7% from Lebanon
  • Six percent come from Syria
  • five percent from saudi arabia

The highest demand is reported for medium-sized booths ranging from 16 to 36 square meters (172 to 387 square feet). Booths in this size range account for about 50% of requests so far.

38% of the booth size was between 9 and 15 square meters, while 12% of interested exhibitors requested a booth size of more than 36 square meters. Show interest in large stands over 36 square meters.

Needless to say, the Emirates Decision to waive exhibition fee With next year’s show expected to generate rapid interest, many exhibitors found it wise to inquire early on the massive show floor plan to secure their space.

Exhibit and participation fee waivers are offered not only to local Arab exhibitors, but also to international publishers.
