Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Pet Festival is back after three years.
Pets, pet parents and pet lovers can join the family-friendly event at the Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Center at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi from 29-30 April. Highlights include a champion dog show, dog agility classes, a pet fashion show, pet health and training, a pet farm, and a demonstration of the Police K9 Dog Squad.
“After three years, the Abu Dhabi Pet Festival is back. Since the COVID restrictions were lifted, many people have asked for this event to be held as soon as possible [no more]。 Pet owners are keen to attend with their pets because it’s literally their pet’s day! said Dr Shree Nair, who is in charge of organizing the festival.
“All competitions are designed according to international standards and judged by renowned judges from Europe. The event will be interesting for pet lovers and tourists,” he added.
Children under 12 are admitted for free, although there is an entrance fee of AED 25. A ticket is valid for two days.

Designed around pets, guests will be able to witness events such as the International Dog Show and participate in workshops on topics such as pet travel safety, weight maintenance and grooming techniques. Pet Farm will teach children how to interact with pets safely and carefully. There will also be demonstrations by expert dog trainers, as well as demonstrations by the K9 Dog Squad.
With the support of various pet business organisations, the event will host Encore Events in association with Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Centre, PetME Magazine and Dhabian Equestrian Club.
Regulation
As required by UAE law, all pet owners must show their pets up-to-date vaccinations within 24 months, and pets must be in good health to enter the country. Dogs should always be on a short leash. Dogs will also get colored ribbons at the venue based on their temperament to signal to other visitors how friendly or stressed they are.
