Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM) has become the latest higher education institution in the United Arab Emirates to receive global quality accreditation through the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), the UK’s independent quality body and a global leader in quality assurance higher education.
ADSM has achieved global recognition after successfully completing QAA’s International Quality Review (IQR). The IQR is a rigorous process that compares global higher education institutions with the international quality assurance standards set out in Part 1 of the European Higher Education Sector (ESG) Quality Assurance Standards and Guidelines.
The review took place online from 24-26 May 2022, by a team of three independent reviewers appointed by the QAA. The audit team confirmed that ADSM meets all 10 internal quality assurance standards in ESG. Additionally, as part of their findings, they identified various areas of good practice such as:
- A clear link between ADSM’s vision, mission and strategic planning process and quality assurance system runs through all processes
- Develop and implement the ADSM internal quality review process as an internal mechanism to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the agency’s processes
- Engage students through interactive, co-creative teaching and learning
- Institutional and student collaborative engagement through the delivery and ongoing enhancement of the Academic Support Center
Dr Abdullah El-Kwafi Abonamah, Dean of Abu Dhabi School of Management, commented: “The positive results of this in-depth review reassure all our communities, especially students, their families and their employers that international qualification standards are being met and Sustain. In ADSM.”
Vicki Stott, Chief Executive Officer of QAA, said: “I would like to warmly congratulate Abu Dhabi School of Management on this extraordinary achievement. Receiving IQR accreditation is a testament to ADSM’s compatibility with international best practice in quality assurance, and is an important part of strengthening our partnership with UK and international higher education institutions. The global collaboration of educational institutions provides a platform.”
