Deal to build a range of interceptors, landing craft and rigid inflatable boats

EDGE entity Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding (ADSB) today signed a memorandum of understanding with Indonesian state-owned shipyard PT PAL Indonesia to enhance cooperation and leverage the capabilities of both parties to build a range of interceptors, landing craft, and to meet the needs of the Indonesian Navy and Coast Guard. Required Rigid Inflatable Boat (RHIB).
The deal was signed by ADSB’s MRO Director Maktoom Al Shehhi; and PT PAL Indonesia CEO Dr Kaharuddin Djenod, on the second day of the India Defence Expo and Forum 2022 at JIExpo Kemayoran in Jakarta, Indonesia until November 5.
ADSB Chief Executive David Massey said: “Our partnership with PT PAL clearly strengthens our investment in Indonesia and the global export success of our world-class vessels.
“Forging a strong strategic partnership is not only a cornerstone of ADSB and EDGE’s long-term strategy, but also contributes to the sustainable economic development of the UAE. Dr. Kaharuddin Djenod, Chief Executive Officer of PT PAL Indonesia, said: “We are delighted to sign this MoU with Abu Dhabi Shipyard, which will support our goal of strengthening the Indonesian navy and defence industry. This collaboration will strengthen PT PAL’s ability to master Indonesia naval technology.”
As one of the largest and most advanced shipyards in the Middle East, ADSB operates three major naval programs: Frigates, Offshore Patrol Vessels and Fast Interceptors. The company also provides a full range of services, including maintenance, repair and modification, upgrades and retrofits, and design and engineering consulting.
