Abu Dhabi Statistics Stakeholder Forum 2023 explores ways to strengthen statistical ecosystem

The Statistics Center Abu Dhabi (SCAD) organized the Abu Dhabi Statistics Stakeholder Forum 2023, bringing together government and private sector officials and representatives to discuss data collaboration and strategic plans to strengthen the statistical ecosystem in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Representatives from federal and local government entities as well as private sector companies attended a forum hosted by SCAD on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Two panel discussions were held on fostering data collaboration and the key role played by the government and private sector in driving Abu Dhabi’s statistical landscape.

In this context, Ahmed Tamim Al Kuttab, Chairman of the Department of Government Support (DGS), praised SCAD’s role in managing statistics in Abu Dhabi, highlighting the importance of DGS-affiliated entities. The importance of partnerships to equip the future government of Abu Dhabi Dhabi has cutting-edge innovative solutions and advanced services.

He said: “The Ministry of Government Support and its affiliated entities are entering a new phase of their journey with an unwavering commitment to achieving the goals and vision set by our prudent leadership. Synergy between government and the private sector continues to pave the way for success, ensuring Abu Dhabi has a prosperous future and maintaining its leading position at the regional and international levels.”

He added: “We are working under the leadership of DGS to facilitate data collaboration and integration across sectors, foster innovation and enable data-informed decision-making through advanced solutions. These initiatives create new opportunities for sustainable development in Abu Dhabi. opportunities.”

Promote progress and create a better future

In his opening remarks, Abdulla Gharib Alqemzi, Acting Director General of ADSC, reaffirmed SCAD’s commitment to fostering collaboration and alignment with SCAD partners in terms of vision and priorities. He highlighted the importance of the development of Abu Dhabi’s statistical ecosystem that has a direct impact on vital sectors across the emirate, supports sustainable development and Abu Dhabi’s global competitiveness as a leading economic center in line with the emirate’s ambitious goals Vision and UAE 2071 Centenary Plan.

He added: “SCAD is organizing this forum this year to celebrate the remarkable achievements that have been made under the guidance and support of our talented leadership. These achievements reflect our strong commitment to serve policy makers and stakeholders in government and the private sector. Empower.”

Alqemzi said SCAD is extremely proud of its collaboration with government and private sector partners. He emphasized SCAD’s commitment to enhancing collaboration and ensuring the success of its strategic plans and projects. He added that SCAD’s commitment is aimed at supporting the emirate’s aspirations for data-driven development and strategic planning.

In this well-attended forum, SCAD showcased its achievements in 2022, covering a wide range of statistical projects, including the Abu Dhabi Statistical Portfolio Project, the Statistical Ecosystem Development Project and the Statistical Maturity Project.

Additionally, the forum highlighted SCAD’s awards in 2022, including the UAE’s Most Innovative Disruptive Project Innovation Award 2023, which recognizes SCAD’s Insights and Foresight Platform (IFP).

Discussions at the forum highlighted the substantial benefits of agreements and memorandums of understanding signed with partners at local, regional and international levels. The agreement enables SCAD to exchange data and knowledge in important areas, including statistics, data management and collection, mechanisms for generating statistics from administrative data, and advanced technologies for statistical ecosystem development.

During the forum, Abu Dhabi Statistics Center launched its new website, a comprehensive platform that provides access to data and statistical insights to a wide range of entities and individuals. The website offers interactive features to enhance the user experience and facilitate seamless access to the latest data and statistics. It is an invaluable resource that meets the needs of decision makers and decision makers, providing them with the information necessary to make informed decisions and develop effective policies.
