Abu Dhabi Stocks Edge Higher as Oil Prices Surge Above $100

Abu Dhabi Stocks edged higher on Thursday as oil prices climbed above $100 a barrel amid growing concerns over global energy supplies.

The Abu Dhabi index gained 0.1% on September 10, outperforming several other Gulf markets. Dubai’s main index, by comparison, fell 0.4%, while Saudi Arabia’s benchmark dropped 0.1%.

Brent crude futures rose 3.51% to $104.79 a barrel during Thursday trading. Oil prices have climbed sharply as attacks on commercial shipping increased concerns about disruptions to energy flows through key regional routes.

Higher oil prices can support revenues for major energy-producing economies such as the UAE. However, prolonged shipping disruptions can also increase transportation, insurance and import costs for businesses.

The latest market move shows that investors remain cautious despite stronger oil prices. Regional markets continue to react to developments around the Strait of Hormuz and wider energy supply risks.

Brent crude reached $105.26 earlier on Thursday, while US West Texas Intermediate crude moved above $100 for the first time since May.

For Abu Dhabi, investors will continue watching oil prices, regional shipping conditions and geopolitical developments as key factors shaping market sentiment in the coming sessions.
