Abu Dhabi to host world’s longest 60ft sloop race

Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra, the Dalma Historical Race Festival returns to Abu Dhabi for its sixth edition, once again hosting the world’s longest 60ft dhow race.

Organized by the Cultural Programs and Heritage Festival Committee and Abu Dhabi Sea Sports Club, the festival will be held on Dalma Island in the Al Dhafra region from 28 April to 7 May.

Last year’s festival was packed full of exhilarating traditions and water activities, and this year’s festival is just as fun.

A unique showcase of Emirati culture, the festival will feature local bazaars, traditional events, competitions, handicrafts and other activities to preserve the emirate’s maritime heritage.

The main highlight of the festival is the world’s longest 60-foot sloop race, at 125 kilometers.

Besides Dalma Island, this event is also a great opportunity to explore many other beautiful islands in the Al Dhafra area of ​​Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi has been hosting regular events that showcase the UAE’s rich culture and heritage, attracting tourists from around the world to experience local customs and traditions.
