Local authorities have announced that more than 100 new parks will be built in the emirate of Abu Dhabi by the end of 2023 for a greener and sustainable future.
The construction of the new park is part of the first phase of the “Liveability Strategy” announced last month, which involves the development of community facilities worth AED12 billion in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.
Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) said that overall, 113 parks will be built, of which 70 will be in Abu Dhabi, 30 in Al Ain and nine in the Al Dhafra area.
By 2025, 277 new parks will be built, including 180 in Abu Dhabi, 80 in Al Ain and 17 in Dhafra.
The first phase of the strategy also aims to deliver infrastructure such as pedestrian and cycle paths, landscaping works and community facilities such as sports fields, clinics and mosques, in addition to increasing the number of parks and green spaces across the emirate.
