Abu Dhabi University celebrates 1,516 graduates across 50 programs

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Considering its academic excellence, Abu Dhabi University (ADU) held its 17th graduation ceremony and celebrated the class of 2023 with 1,516 graduates. Abu Dhabi University welcomed family and friends as they celebrated a total of 839 undergraduates and 677 postgraduates for their graduations. Since its inception in 2003, ADU has graduated over 26,000 students, many of whom have achieved prominence in various sectors and industries at national, regional and global levels.

ADU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ghassan Aouad, ADU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Hamad Odhabi, ADU Associate Provost for Research and Academic Development Prof. Philip Hamill and Executive Director of Community Relations Salem Mubarak Al Dhaheri attended the graduation ceremony in Adu. In addition to the Deans of ADU Colleges, staff, administrators and parents of graduates.

Dr. Ho Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri Chairman and Founder of ADU, expressed pride in the continued milestones ADU has achieved since its inception, and highlighted the University’s commitment to further cement its position as one of the leading universities locally and internationally. Dr Al Dhaheri highlighted ADU’s commitment to equip graduates with the tools and resources they need to become influential leaders of the future, in addition to providing them with an innovative educational environment that furthers creativity based on best scientific and practical practices. These efforts are in line with the University’s strategy to produce competent and successful national cadres who can contribute to the national development agenda and the UAE’s 2071 Centenary.

On the sidelines of the graduation ceremony, Prof. Ghassan, Rector of Abu Dhabi University (ADU)said: “We are proud of ADU’s 17th Class of 2023 graduating, which reflects the University’s strong commitment to continuously improving its academic programs and providing students with a world-class education and experience. Prof Ghassan added: “In a rapidly changing world, it is no longer enough to have a degree – students must possess essential attributes – creativity, problem-solving, leadership and resilience – to thrive and make a difference. ADU Class of 2023 Graduate Representatives Speaking at the ceremony, he said: “Our journey at ADU will forever be etched in our hearts. A short film showing Adu’s successful academic journey was screened at the commencement ceremony. At the end of the ceremony, the principal and deans of ADU awarded graduation certificates to the graduates and took a group photo to mark the graduation ceremony.

As ADU continues to strengthen its presence in the region, the university is consistently ranked among the top three in the UAE for prestigious accreditations at institutional, faculty or subject level. In addition, ADU was recognized in last year’s World University Rankings, ranking third nationally and first for the teaching pillar. Meanwhile, the university’s business and economics subjects, including Accounting and Finance and Business and Management, rank first in the UAE and joint second in the Arab region in THE rankings.
