[ad_1]

Abu Dhabi University

Abu Dhabi University has announced ChatGPT guidelines to help students and staff when using artificial intelligence (AI) tools developed by OpenAI.

ChatGPT is a large-scale language model that can be used for a wide range of tasks, such as answering questions, providing information, generating text, and participating in conversations on various topics. It is an example of a conversational AI model that leverages natural language processing and machine learning to understand and respond to human input in a chat-like fashion.

Guidelines provided by Abu Dhabi University to students and staff emphasize the responsible and ethical use of ChatGPT in accordance with the University’s policies and procedures.

Instructions guide students to understand that the generated content may not be accurate and should be modified accordingly, not to copy text and more instructions to ensure proper use of the application. This technology provides opportunities for students to explore new tools and methodologies that can leverage their research skills.

Additionally, faculty and staff can benefit from ChatGPT by incorporating AI technologies into their courses to improve their teaching methods and increase student learning and success.

The university will also provide the necessary training courses to develop the artificial intelligence skills of the teaching staff.

Professor Ghassan Aouad, President of Abu Dhabi University, said: “At Abu Dhabi University (ADU), we aim to provide our students and staff with world-class innovative technology to enhance their educational experience. By introducing the ChatGPT guidelines, We seek to educate our community members on how to use this tool proactively and safely, while ensuring that it is used in a manner that respects the dignity and values of all people. As we recognize the constant evolution of technology and its impact on society, we must prioritize ethical considerations and promotes the responsible use of artificial intelligence. At ADU, we offer research and innovation-focused development programs to help our students grow and achieve their goals.”

Earlier this year, Abu Dhabi University began training GPT-4 on its data and services, which are now being integrated into the university’s systems.

The integration of this technology supports students, faculty and staff by providing enhanced and efficient services while setting new standards for educational technology.

Abu Dhabi University e-Learning Center

In other news, last year the university launched the “ADU Smart Learning Center” to train teachers in the use of technology to aid learning and develop e-learning courses.

Covering its campuses in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi, the center will introduce and train staff on student-centred and evidence-based teaching techniques.

The center was developed in collaboration with the loikee-learning as Quality Matters, the Online Learning Alliance and the European Foundation for Quality Management.
