Abu Dhabi’s SkyGo invests in commercial drone provider Airobotics for cargo delivery

Airobotics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ondas Holdings, is a provider of private industrial wireless networks and commercial drones and automated data solutions.

As part of the partnership, Airobotics has received an initial multi-system purchase order of $3.5 million from SkyGo upon completion of required formalities. The purchase order is conditional on completion of the proof of concept.

Through the SkyGo joint venture, Airobotics and SkyGo will deploy Optimus Systems in industrial and municipal locations, utilizing the autonomous Optimus System drone platform to provide a variety of services and functions.

Airobotics and SkyGo expect to deploy more than 20 systems in Abu Dhabi over the next few years. The term sheet with SkyGo follows Ondas’ acquisition of Airobotics.

The SkyGo joint venture program was developed and facilitated by our strategic partner, DoverTower DMCC, a UAE-based company specializing in large-scale technology collaborations in the country and the region.

The Airobotics Optimus Urban Drone Infrastructure is expected to be deployed throughout Abu Dhabi to perform various types of missions, including delivering public services in a sustainable and scalable manner.

Urban Drone Infrastructure is designed to operate as a network of smart drones that will be used in a variety of situations including aerial priority delivery and surveillance missions to improve the safety and quality of industrial operations at ports, railways, highways and more. soon.

Through the SkyGo joint venture, SkyGo and Airobotics will deploy the Airobotics Optimus system as Abu Dhabi’s urban drone infrastructure.

Airobotics and SkyGo agree to acquire certain rights in the joint venture to access and use the Optimus system and to market, sell and distribute certain services related to the use of the Optimus system, including data collection and analysis services.

The parties intend to work together to deploy more than 20 Optimus systems throughout Abu Dhabi to serve third parties, including certain government entities. Airobotics expects initial commercial customer deployments from the SkyGo joint venture in the first quarter of 2023.
