AD Ports Group launches new digital district in Zayed Port

[ad_1]

AD Ports Group, Abu Dhabi’s leading trade, logistics and industry facilitator, has announced the opening of its Digital Zone – a new business hub in Zayed Port dedicated to digital trade and logistics services in Abu Dhabi.

The Digital District, the first building to be constructed in the Digital Harbor project, will cover 370,000 square meters and accommodate more than 20,000 innovators, researchers and digital experts.

Abu Dhabi Digital Harbor will host a range of companies specializing in digitalized trade and logistics services, starting with Maqta Gateway and the Digital Innovation Lab, which was established in 2016 as a research and development center focused on digitalized trade.

It was opened by Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office.

The opening marks the start of the first phase of the development of Abu Dhabi Digital Harbor, the cornerstone of a development plan to position Zayed Port as a unique trade and investment services destination.

Falah Mohammad Al Ahbabi, Group Chairman, said: “We are committed to providing smart solutions to facilitate trade in global markets and attract promising digital institutions to join AD Ports Group’s Digital Port project in Abu Dhabi.”

Over the past seven years, Maqta Gateway has successfully developed state-of-the-art digital solutions, integrating more than 80 entities and delivering more than 800 services in the UAE and globally, meeting world-class standards of efficiency.

Maqta Gateway has completed more than 110 million transactions, served more than 20,000 users digitally, eliminated physical visits to customer service centers, and avoided 1.6 million tons of CO2 emissions.

Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, said at the launch: “Abu Dhabi has established itself as a leading regional and global center for trade, commerce and investment. Our business-friendly ecosystem and trade facilitation solutions, including The Advanced Trade and Logistics Platform (ATLP) simplifies procedures, reduces time and costs, enables seamless integration of government services, and enhances the ability to meet trade volume growth.”

“In line with Abu Dhabi’s digital transformation agenda, AD Ports Group is enhancing the competitiveness of the emirate’s trade and logistics sector and playing an important role in developing a diversified, smart and sustainable economy,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
