AD Ports to recruit 7,500 UAE nationals over 5 years under Nafis scheme

DUBAI: Abu Dhabi Ports, operator of UAE ports, free zones and maritime operations, has signed up to the UAE Talent Competitiveness Council, which will employ 7,500 UAE nationals over the next five years, creating 1,500 jobs annually. This will be part of the UAE government’s “Nafis” programme.

“Since the establishment of Nafis a year ago, we have witnessed many partnerships that have resulted in the employment of thousands of UAE nationals in the private sector, as well as access to many more from the training programmes and qualifications offered by The opportunity to benefit our partners,” said ETCC Secretary General Ghannam Al Mazrouei. “Today, we are proud to have AD Ports Group join our distinguished group of partners, which we hope will yield results that positively reflect UAE job seekers and those looking to pursue career paths in the private sector”.

“Through Nafis’ success story campaign ‘Nafis…Your Way’, we are targeting a broad range of Emirati nationals, encouraging them to join the private sector by drawing inspiration from the success stories of ambitious Emiratis who have already taken a role in healthcare , technology, engineering, financial services and management consulting,” he added.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, said: “We are firmly committed to contributing to the economic development and diversification of the UAE. The partnership also aims to encourage private sector agencies and companies dealing with AD Ports Group to sign up for Nafis’ initiatives and programs, provide job and training opportunities and hire nationals on the Nafis platform. The collaboration will also include organizing workshops, providing detailed information on Nafis initiatives and programs, as well as guidance on how to register on the platform, as well as announcing and promoting both parties’ related programs through various communication methods from AD Ports Group.

Cooperation goals

The cooperation between Nafis and AD Ports Group aims to strengthen the close, effective and continuous cooperation between the two parties and achieve mutual benefit by spreading awareness and presenting their initiatives and programmes, especially those of Nafis. The partnership also supports initiatives and programmes that encourage UAE nationals and companies to take advantage of the benefits they offer, maintain communication between the two parties to achieve mutual interests that benefit the nation, exchange knowledge and institutional experience at all levels, and collaborate in the implementation of their business Relevant goals, legislation and plans.
