Although 2023 is only a short time away, there is already so much global sports focus to look forward to in Abu Dhabi. And the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon has always been a crowd favorite (not to mention the emirate’s suppliers of Pocari Sweat and Vaseline), although for amateurs invited to compete against the world’s best long-distance runners, the fun not much.
This year’s ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon takes place on Saturday 16 December this year and will invite the world’s elite distance runners to compete in one of the fastest 42.2km races on the marathon circuit.

The 2022 edition of the circuit takes competitors past some of the city’s most dazzling landmarks, including the Corniche, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Zayed Sports City (which will host the 2022 Mubadala World Tennis Championships this weekend ), Qasr Al Hosn, the World Trade Center towers, and the chance to spot small patches of mangroves from the coast.
There will be $50,000 in prize money for both the men’s and women’s divisions in 2022, with huge bonuses for any record breakers.
