ABU DHABI: During a ceremony held at Arab Health 2023, the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center (ADPHC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Talabat UAE, a leading online food delivery and q-commerce platform, to collaborate in promoting healthier health through the use of Data and research to understand eating habits in Abu Dhabi.
As part of this collaboration, Talabat UAE will support ADPHC in realizing its vision for a healthy and safe society and its ongoing efforts to raise awareness by providing relevant data on food ordering habits. Mapping of food ordering patterns will enable ADPHC to identify salient habits and gaps and launch targeted awareness campaigns in the community. All data shared by Talabat will not include users’ personal information, in accordance with the company’s consumer privacy and security policy.
HE Matar Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director General, Abu Dhabi Public Health Center commented: “ADPHC is committed to the safety and well-being of every member of the Abu Dhabi community and nutrition undoubtedly plays a key role in promoting overall health and has a profound impact on reducing prevalence and burden of lifestyle diseases. Therefore, the collaboration with Talabat will map healthy eating habits and help us understand the dietary demographics of the Abu Dhabi population. Therefore, by integrating the efforts of various stakeholders in the ecosystem, ensuring Access to healthy food and promoting more informed and educated dietary choices is consistent with our vision for a healthy, safe society.”

She continued: “At Talabat, we believe that an approach in moderation is a healthy one – as well as offering our customers a wide variety of cuisines from around the world, we are also focusing our grocery campaign on fresh fruit and vegetables , and curated a special collection of “healthy” restaurants on the app to make it easier for customers to make healthier choices.”
The MOU reflects the ongoing collaboration between ADPHC and talabat UAE on community wellbeing, but this is the first time the two entities have collaborated through data analytics. This further strengthens ADPHC’s position as the region’s public health research institution, and talabat’s data expertise as a technology platform.
In 2019, the UAE launched the National Wellbeing Strategy 2031, a comprehensive plan to further improve the quality of life through a series of policies and initiatives aimed at prioritizing the wellbeing and happiness of its people.
