Abu Dhabi’s Masdar City, the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) and cleantech startup accelerator The Catalyst have partnered to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in the region.
According to a shared press release, the MoU between the three entities was signed during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2023 Zavia.
The collaboration aims to support artificial intelligence, cleantech and smart city technologies across the region, including autonomous transportation.
Through the partnership, stakeholders will explore new initiatives such as AI and Clean Energy Innovation Centers, the use of AI and advanced data analytics, and educational and business opportunities for students and graduates of MBZUAI.
Through this MoU, graduates of MBZUAI may also be eligible for packages that will “fast-track” their entrepreneurial ventures within Masdar City. Additionally, University students may be able to participate in paid internship opportunities with companies in the Masdar City Free Zone.
Masdar City, MBZUAI and The Catalyst will also explore the creation of a new accelerator program centered on artificial intelligence. The purpose is to encourage college graduates to start their own businesses.
