Al Maleh Fishing Festival begins in Dibba Al Hisn

The 10th edition of the “Al Maleh and Fishing Festival,” a prominent heritage and tourism event celebrating the fish salting industry in the region, has commenced in Dibba Al Hisn. Co-organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Dibba Al Hisn City Municipality, and Dibba Al Hisn Municipal Council, the festival will continue until September 3.Representative Image. The festival attracted a diverse audience, including representatives from various ministries, government entities, private sector companies, experts in salted fish production, the local fishing community, and productive families.

The opening ceremony was graced by notable figures, including Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the SCCI; Salim Ali Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Sharjah Municipal Council; Ahmed Abdullah bin Yarouf Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Dibba Al Hisn Municipal Council;

Sulaiman Abdullah Suleiman bin Sarhan Al Zaabi, Head of the Municipal Affairs Department in Sharjah; Matar bin Ahmed Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority (SFRA); and Dr. Mohammed Abdullah bin Huwaiden, Chairman of Al Dhaid Municipality Council.
