New Dubai mall opens, 6 more planned

Damac Group recently opened a new community mall at Damac Hills 1 and announced plans for six more malls across the UAE. The company intends to focus on community malls and avoid competing with larger ones.

The second mall, spanning 110,000 sqft, offers retail, hospitality, leisure, and entertainment options, featuring international and local brands, 30 retail stores, and 10 F&B outlets.

These upcoming malls are expected to create numerous job opportunities in the retail sector. The UAE’s retail sector has seen substantial post-pandemic recovery, boosted by increased foreign tourism and population growth due to job opportunities. Malls are diversifying their offerings with medical centers, sports facilities, and new F&B brands to attract more visitors.

The newly opened mall anticipates an annual footfall of approximately 1.3 million visitors. Future expansion plans are underway to meet demand from retailers, tenants, visitors, and the community.

This Damac mall includes a Spinneys supermarket, Starbucks, Papa John’s, Vietnamese Foodies, American Wax, Al Jaber Opticals, Al Ain Pharmacy, and a children’s play area. A gym and medical facility are set to open soon.

Damac Properties’ managing director for sales and development, Amira Sajwani, emphasized the mall’s tenant mix catering to the local community’s preferences. The company has a track record of delivering quality homes and collaborating with renowned fashion and lifestyle brands since 2002.
