Amy Lee links “a lot” to Billie Eilish’s struggles to fame.
Both artists have written extensively about coping with the stress of the spotlight on their second album, Evanescence’s “The Open Door,” and No Time To Die’s 2021 LP, “Happier Than Ever.”
Amy, 40, told Korn’s Jonathan Davis in the new issue of Metal Hammer magazine: “It was hard for me to fit in. I’m 21 [when ‘Bring Me To Life’ came out]and I’m often the only woman anywhere.
“In the back of my head, I’m like, ‘That’s okay!’, but you do start to feel alone.
“It’s not just about being a woman…”
She continued: “We’ve grown up and times have changed, but it was scary at first.
“I used a lot of inspiration on my second album [2006’s ‘The Open Door’].
“Billie Eilish’s second album did the same thing, and I found myself really interested.”
The “Waste On You” singer previously praised the 20-year-old superstar’s “willingness to be vulnerable and real”.
