Anne Heche’s death was ruled an accident.

The “Wag the Dog” star, who was in a coma following an Aug. 5 car crash, died after inhaling smoke and heat injuries, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s coroner.

They also detailed that the 53-year-old actress, who died last week, suffered a “fracture of her sternum due to blunt trauma” in what has been described as a “severe condition” that usually occurs in a car crash after the chest hits the steering wheel.

Anne was in a coma for about a week before announcing that she was “not expected to survive” on Aug. 12, the same day the former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant was declared legally dead by the state of California. Still, her heart kept beating until the next day to help preserve her organs for donation, which Annie wanted. On August 14, the “Donnie Blasco” star was removed from life support.

A representative for Anne said of her passing: “Today we have lost a bright, kind and happiest soul, loving mother and loyal friend. Anne will be dearly missed, but she will be missed through her beautiful son and Her iconic body lives on”

Her 20-year-old son Homer – whom she shares with ex-Coley Laffoon – shares his “deep, wordless grief” over the loss of his mother, also her 13-year-old son Tras survived. Tepper.

He said: “After six days of almost unbelievable mood swings, I am left with a deep, wordless sadness. Hope my mum is pain free and starts exploring the eternal freedom I love to imagine her.”

After she was declared legally dead, the Los Angeles Police Department announced that they would not continue to investigate the crash.
