AR Rahman’s Firdaus Orchestra will perform at the Expo this month

Expo 2020 Dubai has everything, from must-visit pavilions to Waterfall and viewing platform, Restaurants, robots, etc. In terms of entertainment, there are many places worth seeing, and sometimes multiple shows are held at the same time.

One performance you can’t miss is the Phil Daus Orchestra, an all-female orchestra composed of Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman. The first event will be held on the Jubilee stage at 7pm on October 23rd.

What is special about the Phil Daus Orchestra?

Well, one of them is AR Rahman, the famous Bollywood and Hollywood composer who has won Oscars and Grammys.He is famous for creating soundtracks Millionaire in the slum.

The orchestra he formed is composed of 50 musicians from the Arab world pioneered by Indian composers. Ladies from Oman, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and the UAE will showcase the fusion of styles and genres for the first time at the 2020 Dubai Expo.

AR Rahman said: “This orchestra has very unique characteristics because it symbolizes our ever-changing world and the evolution of music, especially in the Middle East.”

He added that the sounds of the Phil Daus Orchestra, composed of artists from more than 23 countries in the region, are very different from any sounds we hear in the West or the East; they represent a very exciting New sound.

When talking to the Expo 2020 team, AR Rahman said that Firdaus Orchestra is a declaration and inspiration. It will reduce negative narratives about Middle Easterners, that is, narratives that music is forbidden and women cannot come out to play music. In contrast, we are talking about women forming orchestras and entertaining everyone in a very pure way.
