greater diversity

The Chamber believes that the greater diversity of mission participants shows that Arabs are successfully raising their profile in the Brazilian retail industry and that now is the right time to find space at the top levels of the industry, including competitive, traditional, and for Brazil Well-known brands built by consumers.

Silvana Scheffel Gomes, director of marketing and content at the ABCC, said: “Arabs will continue to compete this year as they already carve out a niche in the ethnic food scene, capitalizing on the similarities between Brazilian and Syrian-Lebanese cuisine and Brazil’s large population of Arab descent. , they will further explore opportunities in new categories.”

Gomez attributes the increased interest in Brazil from Arab businesses to two factors. The first is the exploration work being carried out by ABCC’s offices in Cairo and Dubai to present the many prospects of the Brazilian market to Gulf and North African companies based on the organization’s research and actions.

huge participation

She further highlighted that besides a growing number of organizations from Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia and the UAE already regularly participating in Apas, companies from Iraq and Saudi Arabia are also participating for the first time.

Gomez attributes the heightened interest from the Arab world to the popularity Arab brands enjoyed during the World Cup in Qatar and other events in the Gulf region last year. The show is the main commercial exploration platform for these companies in Brazil.

She added: “The World Cup, Formula 1 Grand Prix and other events in the Gulf region have brought thousands of foreigners to the Arab countries, which has increased their awareness of regional brands and now hopes to continue this relationship, in foreign markets. Seek space, including Brazil.”

ABCC will have three booths at Apas Show 2023 in blue, white and yellow pavilions. At the event, the organization will also host business roundtables with potential Brazilian clients and provide interpreters. — trade arab news agency
