Dubai: If you are an artist or photographer looking to make the UAE home, the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT Abu Dhabi) offers a specific long-term visa that allows professionals to live and work in the UAE without a sponsor.
DCT Abu Dhabi launched the ‘Creative Visa’ programme for individuals in the cultural sector and creative industries on 14 February 2021.

How to Apply for Abu Dhabi Creative Visa
According to the department’s call centre, before you can start applying for a creative visa, you will need to complete the DCT Abu Dhabi’s ‘Creative Endorsement’ form. In this application form, you must provide your personal details and documentation to demonstrate your expertise and experience in the media, cultural and creative industries. Here’s how you can complete the first step in getting a visa:
1. Visit https://endorsementform.adcreativevisa.gov.ae/. You will first get a list of endorsement rules that you need to read and understand before clicking the “Continue” button.
2. Fill in the following personal information:
• full name
• Enter your email address
• gender
• Country of Citizenship
• Passport details
• date of birth
• country of birth
• City
3. Next, enter your occupation and qualification details.
4. You will then be asked to fill in your visa information, including your UID number. This section only applies to current UAE residents.
5. Next, the application form will ask you some background questions, including any past criminal records, and details of family members you would like to sponsor if you are granted a long-term visa.
6. You will then be asked to fill in your residential address and details.
7. The next step is very important to complete accurately as you will need to upload the required documents to prove your eligibility to be a candidate for a creative visa.

e. Demonstrate that you have sponsorship or funding in your area of expertise.

G. Evidence that the artwork you have produced has been distributed locally or internationally.
H. Demonstrate that you are a member of an international or reputed organization or association in your field of expertise.

What happens after submitting an endorsement application?
After the application is successful, it will be reviewed by the department. If all requirements are met, you will receive an update notification from DCT Abu Dhabi notifying you that your application was successful. The department will then proceed to apply for a visa for you. However, the visa fee must be paid by the applicant.
