Austria approved vaccine

The EU accepts the following coronavirus vaccines:

  • BioNTech/Pfizer
  • AstraZeneca
  • Johnson & Johnson
  • Modern
  • Huaxing
  • Sinopharm Holdings

These vaccines have been approved by the Austrian government, and travelers who have received the full dose can enter the country. However, Sinovac and Sinopharm cannot enter Austrian hotels, restaurants or other businesses.

Austria will consider people vaccinated against COVID-19 if:

  • They received two doses of AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria or Covishield), BioNTech/Pfizer, Moderna, Sinopharm or Sinovac; or
  • They were on the 22nd day after Johnson & Johnson took the medicine; or
  • They were infected with the new coronavirus and received a dose of the vaccine. They also need to provide proof of past infections

For 2 doses of vaccine, the validity period of the vaccine certificate is 1 year after the second dose. For people who have previously been infected, it is also effective within 1 year after the only dose.

For people who have received a single dose of the vaccine, their vaccination certificate can be valid for 270 days to enter Austria from the 22nd day.

UAE travelers do not need to be quarantined in Austria
