Gen24 Flybiz, an upcoming flight training company based in Mumbai (India), has entered into an agreement with Avion to supply eight Airbus A320 full flight simulators.
The new center is scheduled to open in July and two Avion A320 simulators will be shipped to India and certified by DGCA, the Civil Aviation Authority of India. The remaining six simulators will be delivered in approximately eighteen months.
The agreement follows the announcement by India’s Gen24 Group to acquire the Netherlands’ Avion Group and Avion Simulators. The group is driven by the Padmakar Mulay Group of Companies and its flagship company Gangamai Industries & Constructions Limited (GIACL).

Gen24 Group CEO Manoj Pandey explained the acquisition: “Avion’s unique simulator design combined with the team’s expertise presents Gen24 with a great opportunity to rapidly expand our expertise in professional flight training and simulator manufacturing footprint. The synergy between Gen24 and Avion makes it an ideal acquisition and an impeccable match.”
The two companies have agreed to further enhance Avion’s research and development activities, developing full flight simulators for the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and new features such as lesson plans, debriefing tools and the 2.1 software update for the Airbus A320 simulator. To support the enhanced R&D program, Avion will expand its team in the coming months.
“We are delighted to have Avion become part of a strong industrial group with the ambition to become a knowledge leader in the flight training industry. This will enable Avion to develop its product portfolio and grow market share accordingly,” said the outgoing Avion CEO Erik Varwijk said.
