With a 23-year presence in the UAE, Axis celebrated its most successful year in 2023, attributing achievements to ongoing infrastructure development and substantial population growth. Ettiene van der Watt, Regional Director for Middle East and Africa at Axis, shared these insights during an interview at Intersec 2024.

Innovative Offerings: Unveiling Cutting-Edge Products

At Intersec 2024, Axis showcased groundbreaking products, including the world’s first thermometric explosion-protected camera for hazardous locations. Other releases featured a network horn speaker certified for hazardous locations and a high-frequency radar for precise detection in varied conditions.

Milestone Celebration: Intersec Dubai’s 25th Edition

Intersec Dubai’s 25th edition, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, served as a pivotal gathering for over 45,000 stakeholders from around the world. The event, spanning from January 16 to 18, 2024, brought attention to Axis’s commitment to security technology.

Beyond Security Solutions: Axis’s Forward-Thinking Approach

Van der Watt highlighted Axis’s evolution beyond traditional security solutions, emphasizing the incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) in cameras. This shift allows for not only enhanced security but also support for operational efficiency and business intelligence.

Sustainable Practices: A Commitment to the Environment

In terms of sustainability, Axis prioritizes environmentally friendly practices, with a significant portion of components being PVC-free. Additionally, 70 to 80 percent of components are made from recycled materials, aligning with the company’s commitment to reduced environmental impact.

Van der Watt concluded by expressing Axis’s ongoing commitment to innovation, pushing the boundaries of network monitoring and security products. As the company maintains a focus on sustainability and customer-centric solutions, it remains poised for sustained growth in the UAE and beyond.
