Azizi Developments, the UAE’s leading private developer, has just announced plans to launch hotel brands in the UAE and beyond as part of its expansion into the hospitality industry.
Azizi has appointed Michael Zager as its new Chief Operating Officer – Hospitality.
Azizi will soon launch a new global brand under which it will develop and acquire hotel real estate, which will then own and manage it.
A hotelier and industry leader with over 35 years experience in the international hotel industry, German Michael Zager will lead Azizi into his first foray into the industry. Zager previously held senior leadership positions at several global four- and five-star hotel groups in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, including Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Marriott, and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG Hotels & Resorts), for which he He served as vice president responsible for franchising and managing the portfolio, which included more than 300 hotels in 26 countries.
As Managing Director of Hospitality360, the hospitality management consultancy he founded in 2019, he also leads several industry giants to operational excellence, serving clients in Europe and the Middle East.
Zager is an award-winning IHK graduate in hospitality, graduated from the Bergius Professional School in Frankfurt, Germany, is a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA), and has completed Strategic Hospitality Management at the New Ithaca Cornell School of Hospitality Etc PDP education course York.
