Bain & Company implements global sustainability imperatives

[ad_1]

Bain & Company is offering The Further Academy Programme, an accelerated and specialized graduate-level global ESG training program designed to upskill all of the firm’s advisors globally. It will be the largest move of its kind in the top management consulting industry.

The Middle East Office held 5 training sessions and consultants from all 3 offices were trained by the HEC Business School Paris. Each batch of consultants underwent a week of full-time, face-to-face training covering the fundamentals of sustainability.

highly focused

Already launched and rapidly scaled up in all of the firm’s global regions, the upskilling program is a key element of Bain & Company’s continued, intense focus on supporting sustainable transformation to positively impact all of its clients. It supports the company’s goal to integrate ESG into 100% of its client work, reflecting the global imperative that companies across industries now integrate sustainability and ESG into the fabric of their businesses to accelerate energy transitions, transform food systems and promote diversity and equity.

The Further Academy program will enable all of Bain’s advisors and consultants, from entry-level newcomers to senior partners, to receive training from world-class universities and business schools, including Imperial College Business School (London), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), HEC Paris, Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and Melbourne Business School Center for Sustainable Development and Business, Melbourne, Australia.

Embed ESG

Upskilling is part of Bain’s ongoing commitment to integrating ESG into everything it does, both in its client work and in its own internal and external operations. It will enable each advisor to advise on ESG issues within their area of expertise, ensuring that understanding ESG risks and opportunities is at the heart of every client brief – and delivering on Bain’s own ambitious sustainability goals.

Each consultant will be offered 40 hours of postgraduate level training modules, delivered primarily in live sessions with some blending elements, with partner business schools developing regionally tailored courses. Modules include climate change, energy transition, sustainable development, business transformation, circular and value chains, sustainable and equitable food systems, social justice and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

For DEI, this expansion builds on the extensive training already provided to thousands of Bain consultants this year. In addition, the company is already actively developing the next phase of its ESG upskilling program to ensure continuous relevant training across teams and regions, including for future new hires.

to further understand

Discussing the plan, François Faelli, ESG Global Managing Partner at Bain & Company, said: “Achieving net zero emissions globally will require a significant investment in ESG skills. The next generation of business leaders must intuitively understand how to balance financial and non-financial goals. I’m proud to say that we will soon be successfully delivering this training to thousands of our consultants who will help guide our clients towards a more sustainable future.

Eric Guraieb, Middle East partner at Bain & Company, added: “Training all international consultants from top universities helps them gain a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of a wide range of sustainability issues, from climate change to circular supply chains. ESG Skills Upgrading Program has been a priority for Bain & Company as we focus on advising clients on their sustainability journey.”

Faelli continued: “Fundamentals of climate science and social value are critical to understanding nearly every modern business challenge. As purpose becomes increasingly important as a strategic driver, initiatives such as these that bridge the gap between academic institutions and business gaps are critical. By implementing the program across all areas of our practice, advisors will be able to work alongside clients to co-create the future and make a lasting impact.”

Bain’s strong sustainability

Bain & Company, which has been carbon neutral since 2011, announced its commitment to science-based target reductions in April, as well as a commitment to become net carbon negative each year going forward.

This will allow Bain & Company to eliminate more than 100% of Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions by supporting projects that extract carbon from the atmosphere.

Bain & Company launched its Sustainability and Responsibility practice more than a decade ago and has seen the region grow by more than 65% annually over the past five years, during which time its consulting team has undertaken more than 950 sustainability projects, including Includes over 800 cases involving climate transition.

The Further Academy builds on the company’s extensive previous ESG training record. Previous initiatives include Further SM Learning, a series of podcasts and webinars, now in its second year, and an ongoing curation of the latest insights shared through Bain’s award-winning knowledge management platform. — trade arab news agency
