Barbara Broccoli Confirms New Development Trajectory for James Bond Entertainment

[ad_1]

Barbara Bullocky and Michael G. Wilson are charting a different trajectory for the James Bond franchise.

Producers are looking for a new actor to play 007 after Daniel Craig’s exit in ‘No Time to Die’, and Barbara has confirmed that the film’s head must be “reimagined” for the long-running spy franchise direction”.

“When you change actors, you have to reimagine where the movie is going,” Barbara told Empire magazine. “When you hire actors, you want to spend at least ten years with them and film with them. Four, five or six movies.

“So you have to figure out, ‘What’s the trajectory? What’s that actor going to bring? How are you going to take the series in another direction?'”

The 62-year-old producer added: “It’s not just flicking in ‘Spotlight’ and saying, ‘Oh, there’s a 6-foot-1 guy’.”

Barbara explained that she and Michael would be patient as they search for Craig’s successor.

She said: “We’re going to take it slow. We want to understand where we want to go in the series, we want to do that before we take anyone else. We’ll probably start the process with (writers) Rob (Wade) and Neil (Purvis), we’ll see where we’re going!”

At the end of No Time to Die, Craig’s Bond sacrifices himself to save Love. Dr. Madeleine Swan (Leah Seydoux) and his daughters Mathilde and Barbara recall the shock years when they finally saw the finale for the first time at the premiere.

She said: “At the ‘No Time to Die’ premiere with 4,000 people, it was unbelievable, you could hear everyone’s voices, their breathing and their heartbeats and they would say, ‘This is not going to happen… …’occur.”
