Fernando Barrichello, son of former Ferrari Formula 1 driver Rubens, has become Xcel Motorsport’s fifth and final signing for the upcoming Formula 4 season in the United Arab Emirates.

He races for the Full Time Sports team, the team whose father has raced in Brazil’s premier Stock Car category for the past decade and has recently gained F4 miles in Europe by joining Prema for two tests in Italy.
In F4 UAE he will be team-mates of two pupils of former F1 driver Sergey Sirotkin, Alexander Bolduev and George Zhuravskiy S35 AcademyUAE karting champion Federico Rifai and British F4 driver Noah Lisle.
Based at the Yas Marina circuit, where F4 UAE will race, the Xcel-backed Yas Heat Academy team expanded its line-up to three cars with the addition of local talent Hamda Al Qubaisi.
The 20-year-old has extensive F4 experience, having competed in the Italian Championship from 2019 to 2021 (with a podium finish during this period) and spent two seasons in UAE F4. In her first domestic race, she won three races and took seven pole positions to finish fourth in the standings, adding three more victories in her second season.
In 2022, she competes in the Regional Formula Championship, with Prema in the Asian and European Championships. Her best finish in both series was 12th on her debut at Yas Marina Circuit and she is now retiring to F4.
