(Grey News) – Warner Bros. announced that Kevin Conroy, who voiced The Dark Knight for decades in “Batman: The Animated Series” and other animated shows and films, has died at the age of 66.
In a statement, Warner Bros. said Conroy brought Batman to life in nearly 60 titles, including 15 films and Batman: TAS, which ran from 1992 to 1996.
“Kevin is perfect,” said actor Mark Hamill, who voiced the Joker in the series, according to the statement. “He’s one of my favorite people on the planet and I love him like a brother. He really cares about those around him – he’s decent in everything he does. Every time I see him or My spirits are lifted when I talk to him.”
Conroy studied acting at The Juilliard School, where he was roommates with Robin Williams and studied with Christopher Reeve and Francis Conroy. He has recurring roles on shows like “Dynasty” and “Another World,” and has guest appearances on shows like “Cheers” and “Murphy Brown.”
In 2019, he played the live-action Bruce Wayne/Batman role on The CW’s DC show “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover.
Warner Bros. said he is survived by husband Vaughan C. Williams, sister Trisha Conroy and brother Tom Conroy.
