Beyoncé returns to stage after four years, performs in Dubai

[ad_1]

The star-studded show kicked off Saturday night like a theatrical production. According to Variety, the violinist, wearing a metallic gold headdress and expansive red skirt, took the stage first, followed by Beyoncé’s dancers and more musicians in matching outfits, standing with their hands folded in front of an Egyptian-themed backdrop.

Guests began screaming with excitement when the hour-long show, which was an invitation-only show, saw Beyonce take the podium in a yellow bustier dress, feather skirt and feather back.

Fireworks exploded above the venue as the iconic artist opened with Etta James’ “At Last” from a golden microphone. She then announced to the crowd that her mom Tina Knowles, dad Matthew Knowles, her “beautiful husband” Jay-Z and their kids Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir Carter were all in the audience to support her.

Jay-Z sat in his seat when Beyonce performed “Crazy in Love” (she started with the “50 Shades of Gray” version and wrapped it in the original), and Blue Ivy came on stage for a collaboration.

Strolling out in a red sequined jumpsuit and flowy skirt, the 11-year-old continued to prove she’s a star in the making, as she walked up to her mom and tossed her braids.

When Beyoncé started her performance of “Girl With Brown Skin,” Blue Ivy danced beside her, perfectly mastering what the dancers did next to her. At the end of the song, she hugged her mom, walked up the steps, struck a pose, and even blew kisses to the crowd like a pro before leaving the stage.

Beyoncé has three different wardrobe changes for the evening. This was followed by a red corset jumpsuit with a skirt over it, and then a crystal-embellished sheer minidress to close out the show.

Each outfit brings a new vibe to the show, which relies heavily on ballads = like “Freedom”, “Spirit” and “Alive”. But Beyoncé spiced up the scene with “beautiful liar” and “naughty girl,” for which she appeared in the evening’s final look.

Oddly, Beyoncé did not perform any songs from her Grammy-nominated 2022 album Renaissance.

To cap off the show, the superstar singer and her dancers writhed in the water as she sang “Naughty Girl.” Beyonce then swaggered onto an elevated wooden plank in the middle of the water body to cap off the show. She was lifted into the air, followed by a spectacular firework display.

Chloe and Halle Bailey, Nia Long, Kendall Jenner and Rebel Wilson were among the stars in attendance. Guests were told to wear formal attire and had to rock a signature pin to attend the event.

All attendees must also abide by a strict no phone policy. No one was allowed to take photos or videos of the concert, but they were allowed to do so at the after party, where the Swedish House Mafia performed and guests continued to sip free Moet champagne.

Beyoncé’s performance was part of Atlantis Resort’s “Grand Reveal” weekend celebrations for the new Royal Atlantis hotel in Dubai, which opens next month. It also includes dinners prepared by world-renowned chefs including Jose Andres, Nobu Matsuhisa, Jose Andres and Mich Turner.
