Biden, Sunak reaffirm ‘special relationship’, agree to support Ukraine World News

U.S. President Joe Biden and new British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak reiterated the “special relationship” between the two countries in a phone conversation on Tuesday. The two leaders also agreed on “the importance of supporting Ukraine,” according to the White House statement.

“The two leaders also agreed on the importance of working together to address the challenges posed by China and ensure sustainable and affordable energy resources,” the statement further read.

It added that Biden and Sunak also discussed their commitment to the Belfast/Good Friday deal.

Meanwhile, Sunak also said on Wednesday that the United States and Britain are “the closest allies.”

“I look forward to working with @POTUS to strengthen stability around the world and continue our leadership in supporting the people of Ukraine,” he tweeted.
