Last week’s CBS game show “Big Brother” ended its 23rd season Xavier Prather Was crowned the season champion. His victory made history and became the first black winner in the history of the show. However, the world knew as early as the beginning of the season that it would be historic for the last six contestants to stay at home. They all formed an alliance called “The Cookout”, which in itself is a historic moment.
The show’s runner-up Derek Frazier (Derek Frazier) is also worth watching, because he brought his excitement into the house, and worked hard week after week, and finally entered the last two. Although he was in second place, he did receive a prize of $75,000.
We interviewed Derek to talk about his time on the show, what he can learn from this experience, his future plans, etc.
“Big Brother” this season will go down in history forever, because the last six contestants are black, and Xavier Prather won the show, and you are runner-up. How does it feel to know that you are part of such a historic moment in the history of the show?
It feels great to be part of the big movement that needs to happen, especially on a platform like Big Brother. Knowing that all six of us will eventually become African Americans does show that our community can work together and build together (as blacks) anyway. I still can’t believe that I won the second place, but I am very happy for Xavier. He and I scored the last two games on the first day. We know that we are all brothers throughout the game, so if I at least lose to him, I will be very happy.
“The Cookout” is a great example of what our community can achieve when we get together. Why is it important for you and your actors to show this to the audience?
A picnic is a good example of a black community because it shows that no matter at the end of the day, we only have each other. You will not let anyone break a black community. We want to prove this, because in the final analysis, this is just a Reality show, but we will always be one family.
What is the hardest match you have completed at home?
The hardest race must be “Four of a Kind”. This is the second part of the HOH race against Azah. It is very difficult because I am so big that I cannot run on that spinning wheel. It’s very frustrating because I really want to win, but I just can’t do it physically. In the end, my knees are serious, but I want to tell people that no matter how old or how old you are, you can do something.
What do you think is the most important lesson learned while participating in the competition?
What I learned in the show is that life is short. You should cherish every moment you spend with your friends, family and your loved ones, because when you stay at home for three months, everything is taken away , You really cherish. Think about your life and the people you love, how you want to get out of the house, and how you want to be a stronger person. You want to show everyone that they are important to you. So I am very grateful that I got the wake-up call I needed at home, and I think God will do it.
Can you see yourself joining another game-based show?
Of course, I really want to make another game show. I think this time I don’t have to worry about anyone other than myself. I can really become the messy villain I want to be and have fun from it. If not, I want to have my own show… You know I’m single, I’m looking for love! My life is very interesting, especially as the son of Smokin Joe Frazier!
You would say what is the one thing you want the audience to walk away while watching your show?
I hope the audience can see that I have been being myself… and learning to laugh, have fun and have a sense of humor is very important in life! In addition, please remember that you don’t owe anyone in life, you only have yourself, me, myself and me. Never let anyone judge you because of your decision or who you are! Or the person you want to be, because the person who knows you is the person next to you!
