Looking up “winning” in the dictionary, I can only hope that Lindsay Perry’s picture is there, because my sister leads a life that I think many of us enjoy. This Pennsylvania native started a wine event and will pay $10,000 a month for her to learn and taste wine, and she can also rent-free and live in an exclusive winery in Sonoma County, California!
According to reports, the 28-year-old was announced as one of two national champions in the Murphy Good Winery “Real Good Work” campaign. Grelio.
In addition to a monthly salary of US$10,000 and a year’s free rent, Lindsay will also receive 30 boxes of Murphy-Goode wines to take home as compensation for the time spent in the winery.
All Lindsay has to do is learn about the world of e-commerce and work with the team to increase visibility and build demand for the winery. She must also follow the winemaker Dave Ready Jr. and the wine team during the harvest, and assist in the operation of the winery.
The competition made international headlines in March. The winery received more than 7,000 applications from all over the world, and the top 17 finalists arrived in Healdsburg, California, where they spent a week meeting with employees and conducting face-to-face interviews.
According to the winery, in the end, Perry defeated all 15 other applicants and was selected for his creativity, sense of humor, motivation and passion for wine.
“Working at Murphy-Goode Winery will be a unique challenge and an important fulcrum in my life. I will enter the wine industry in the best possible way. I have the opportunity to follow Dave and learn winemaking and professional growth through this year’s exploration. Will change the trajectory of my life,” Lindsay said on the Murphy Good Winery website.
Lindsay will win with another contest winner, 28-year-old Veronica Hebbard, an engineer from Orlando, Florida.
